What is giclée printing?
Giclée is French for ‘sprayed’ or ‘squirted’, which is how an inkjet printer works. However, unlike standard desktop inkjet printers, giclée printers use special light-fast archival inks, which, if kept out of the sun, remain true for up to twenty five years. Giclée printing doesn’t use screen or other mechanical devices, and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern, so the image retains all the tonalities and hues of the original painting.
